They came out of nowhere... The fall was decisively swift, the destruction utterly complete. Still reeling from The Incident over a century prior, the fractured kingdom was left politically inert & had difficulty defending its borders. Here was the Turning Point in how warfare progressed for the rest of the conflict. This was the point of no return.
The final siege was executed by a then unknown opportunistic faction. The battle was brief, but brutal, featuring new, powerful technologies; ones that defied current understanding.
The versatile Nano Machines, first extensively used in the siege, had both offensive & defensive capabilities, garnering heavy utilization in the realms of Construction, Demolitions & Field Medicine. The most advanced were the Asynthe, artificially engineered evolutions of Golems, whose sole purpose were to be Weapons of Mass Annihilation. However, most terrifying were the Spore-Powered Biological Weapons. If these didn't kill outright, they would be the source of mutations that created monstrous beings known as the Aswang, nightmarish, blood-sucking & flesh-eating creatures.
The fall of this once vibrant & mighty State was more than a regional defeat; it was a continental warning. The kingdom's ruin signaled the obsolescence of the Old Political Structure. No nation could hope to survive against this raw, technological power. The continent was irrevocably pushed into a brutal, high-tech arms race, forcing survivors to adopt this new, destructive way of fighting or face the same fate as Orukhta.
