Alien Genesis Revolution: Space & Humanity's Origins (A Mysterious Revelation)

The earlier decades-long Conflict scarred a generation with a lasting terror. Nearly a century into this Age of Restoration, an accidental discovery would spark a Revolution that started in 175 GPC. The newly uncovered ruin, determined to be a broken off section from a Generation Starship, irrevocably proved the theory that Humans on Mirabilis was not native, but an ancient, extraterrestrial lineage. This, the very first of the currently excavated sites was a vessel section containing what were believed to be Escape Pods. The chilling find was not the technology, but the sight of numerous empty launch bays.

To answer the central question of the survivors' fate, the newly established Familial Houses and Trade Guilds needed to find more ruins. Subsequent widespread, public identification of other sites, of varying sizes, immediately launched a fierce technological race. These discoveries immediately transformed the nature of the scramble, as the question became: Who were these survivors & who were their descendants?

Crucially, further excavation of these sites yielded skeletal remains. Scientific comparison showed these bones to be structurally identical to the Humans in Paradisus, differing only by specific markers, related to the ancient Cataclysm, found on the native population. This provided the definitive, scientific proof of non-evolution: these space-farers are the ancestors of humanity.

The advanced schematics found in other sites promised to refine existing Pollen-based Magitech into exponentially more lethal & efficient tools. Crucially, this advanced technology serves a dual purpose: it is both a prize of immense power & a means to decipher the alien data logs, tracing the path of these surviving space-faring Humans.

These discoveries cemented the power of both the Houses & Guilds, intrinsically linking the two newly established power structures. The former, the new Aristocracy, use their political capital to claim the sites & demand lineage, while the latter, the reformed Cartels, provide the technological expertise, financial backing & logistical backbone required for exploitation.

Eight major ruins are currently known to exist & are controlled, one way or another by those in power. The greatest secret, however, is that the colossal Generation Starship itself remains undiscovered. Clues gathered from the known sites now point toward the existence of a Lost City Wreckage, making its discovery the ultimate objective in this frantic race for technology & lineage.

Fall of Orukhta: Lingering Embers (A Dramatic Escalation)

They came out of nowhere... The fall was decisively swift, the destruction utterly complete. Still reeling from The Incident over a century prior, the fractured kingdom was left politically inert & had difficulty defending its borders. Here was the Turning Point in how warfare progressed for the rest of the conflict. This was the point of no return.

The final siege was executed by a then unknown opportunistic faction. The battle was brief, but brutal, featuring new, powerful technologies; ones that defied current understanding.

The versatile Nano Machines, first extensively used in the siege, had both offensive & defensive capabilities, garnering heavy utilization in the realms of Construction, Demolitions & Field Medicine. The most advanced were the Asynthe, artificially engineered evolutions of Golems, whose sole purpose were to be Weapons of Mass Annihilation. However, most terrifying were the Spore-Powered Biological Weapons. If these didn't kill outright, they would be the source of mutations that created monstrous beings known as the Aswang, nightmarish, blood-sucking & flesh-eating creatures.

The fall of this once vibrant & mighty State was more than a regional defeat; it was a continental warning. The kingdom's ruin signaled the obsolescence of the Old Political Structure. No nation could hope to survive against this raw, technological power. The continent was irrevocably pushed into a brutal, high-tech arms race, forcing survivors to adopt this new, destructive way of fighting or face the same fate as Orukhta.

Grand Paradisian Conflict: Blame & Society's Upheaval (A Fathomless Cost)

If the life-altering Cataclysm millennia earlier defined the planet's environment, the Conflict in 0 GPC, triggered by a horrific tragedy, would utterly dismantle its civilization.

It all started, not with a declaration of war, but with an act of terror against the entire continent. This was not a slow descent into regional hostility; it was a sudden, violent eruption that shattered the old political order and plunged the civilization into an Age of Chaos.

The catalyst? An attack during the Culmen Seniorum, an annual diplomatic gathering where Heads-of-State & other high-ranking officials meet to discuss a variety of political matters. This strike was so devastatingly precise, resulting in the deaths of numerous vital political figures.

The scale of the attack suggested a highly organized & unseen enemy. However, the tragedy did not unite the survivors; it shattered them. Each instantly blamed all others for the catastrophic lapse in security, often times accusing the others of perpetrating this catastrophe themselves. The inherent political tension was pushed past the breaking point. Trust vanished, replaced by open hostility and a rush to militarize against neighbors. With the Old Guard decapitated & its lines of succession destroyed, the political fragility instantly gave way to chaos, where regional skirmishes escalated into continental warfare as surviving factions rushed to retaliate before their neighbors could.

This major event in the history of Paradisus became a vicious cycle of Destruction, melting down the established world & creating a desperate, ruthless generation of survivors. The cost of this war would create the new Political Powers who would eventually sieze control of the continent in this new Era of Civilization.
